Friday Random Thoughts

Seriously, the library does not open until 9? I mean, I know it is spring break, but some of us still have work to do.

This morning when I dropped little j off I noticed that one of the boys in her class really smelled like cigarette smoke, which led me to conclude that his parents dropped him off and they were smoking in the car with the windows up. And that made me sad.

I often have to examine my own prejudices and assumptions. I don't want to take anything for granted.

This morning little j and I had a discussion about gay marriage. She wanted to know why some people don't want men to marry men or women to marry women...I had a hard time explaining that to her without bashing religion (and then I had to...well, see above random thought).

Next Friday I am having a liver cyst aspirated. It sounds scarier than it actually is. But apparently I will need to be home and rest for the remainder of the day -- oh darn.

I have been dreaming about statistics...that can't be good.

Speaking of statistics, I can't wait to be done with the project so I can go back to qualitative research.

I need to get my article(s) written and submitted for publication.

I'm not sure how I truly feel about Facebook. It's a good place to connect, and I haven't been obsessed with it, but I seriously don't want to all these "pokes," games, gifts, etc. Such meaningless interaction!

I've been trying really hard to read A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, I think I must be missing something because I find the author/narrator pretty irritating. But I am going to keep going.
