Done and Done!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get post the results of my defense -- but as you can infer from the title, I am now That Girl, Ph.D. Well, technically, I have to make a few minor changes to the manuscript and I'm not really supposed to use the official title until after graduation (May 18), but give me a break. There's no way I'm not finishing at this point.

Afterwards Big J and I picked up little j and we went downtown to celebrate, then my dissertation partners, the Ms. A & M, met us for celebratory bubbly. It was great. Of course the next morning I had to get up at 5 a.m. to catch a plane to New York for a 10 a.m. meeting. And then I didn't get home until 10 that night. So yesterday I was pretty tired.

Finishing feels a bit surreal. Good, but surreal. You'd think I would have all this time to catch up on things I've been wanting to do. I do have the time, but I'm not quite there mentally. Soon I hope.
