I am in the minority when it comes to wanting to be inspired by a presidential candidate. According to this column by David Brooks, The Happiness Gap, "If one were to advise a candidate about the happiness gap, you’d say: first, don’t try to be inspiring or rely on the pure power of authenticity. In these cynical days, voters are not interested in uplift."
Wow, really? I'd like to know a bit more about the demographics of the survey respondents because they do sound pretty damn cynical. And that certainly isn't me.

I want to be inspired, and I want to be empowered. I don't want nuggets of inspiration, I want the whole meal.
And so far, I'm not finding it.
