As I get closer to the point of doing interviews for my dissertation, I've been have more sleepless nights. Last night, although I went to bed at 11:30, I didn't fall asleep until after 2 a.m. It was frustrating. I found myself thinking about how the interviews would go, then I started thinking about the acknowledgment and dedication sections of the dissertation. Then I had a little panicky moment when I thought about the amount of transcription that needed to be done -- nearly 2400 minutes worth. Clearly I need to contract that piece out. And clearly that is going to be expensive. This isn't to mention the larger thing hanging over my head which is the time factor. Getting IRB approval will happen in roughly 2 weeks. Then sending out the survey, and analyzing the data, then setting up times to meet with students. Originally I was thinking that I might do the four interviews over a 4 week period, but now I am thinking I may have to shorten that time line a bit and double up on the number of interviews per week. Holy crap! There's so much to think about!
