Tonight I went to the dissertation support group (something I highly recommend to anyone in the dissertation process), we revisited the 'write at least something every day' theme. And although I am waiting to hear about IRB, I realized there are definitely things that I can be doing writing-wise. That is not to say that I'm not working, but I really haven't been writing. So, I think in between some new work I have to do for my GA, I am going to start to go back through my proposal and make some revisions.
Two months ago I would have shuddered to think about making revisions, but now that I have some distance it's something that I am looking forward to doing. In fact, I was writing up a request for access to a national database earlier this week and found a couple things in my methodology that made me squirm and wonder how I even got through the proposal stage. But that's what it is, a proposal not the final document.
I am starting to remember why I am excited about research in general and my topic specifically. This is a very good thing!
