I've Said It Before: I'm A Big Nerd

Today my nerdiness manifests itself in my new office calendar.  First, let me say that I am super picky when it comes to calendars.  I think that they are a reflection of who I am and so I don't want to have something like, say, kittens frolicking in the grass.  While I think kittens are adorable, I don't want to be known as "That Girl with the kitten calendar."  In the past I've generally had a William Morris calendar, classy, unusual, attractive.  This year I went for "A History of Modern Political Action Posters" for my home office and for my office at school, wait for it . . ."The Mathematics Calendar!"

The sheer excitement as I opened it up yesterday was ridiculous.  A new math problem every day for a whole year (and, bonus!, it's a leap year so I actually get 366!).  Poor Big J, I think he is convinced I've gone mad.  But at least he knows that he married That (Nerdy) Girl so it's nothing new.

In fact, this morning our conversation went something like this:

Me: "The answer to each problem is actually the date."
Him: "So you don't have do the math to find the answer."
Me: "Who wouldn't do the math?  The fun part is figuring out how to get the answer!"
Yeah, typing that out I realize how it sounds. Maybe it's good that our kitchen calendar is relatively normal (although little j is also beginning to show glimmers of good old math nerdiness, which I like to call "math awesomeness!")
