This from the Wall Street Journal.
My favorite part:
"A few of my friends like to post several times a day about what they are eating: 'I just ate a Frito pie.' 'I am enjoying a double hot-fudge sundae at home tonight.' 'Just ate a whole pizza with sausage, peppers and double cheese,'" says the 49-year-old career coach in suburban Dallas. "My question is this: If we didn't call each other on the phone every time we ate before, why do we need the alerts now?"No kidding!

I am fascinated and horrified by the level of oversharing that goes on via social networking.
By the way, I just had a drink of water. ; )
Hmmmm..... how ironic that this is coming from someone with an entire blog devoted to the things they eat.
Yes, you'd think it would be ironic, except I don't post everything I eat, and I do post recipes, and I only post a few times a month -- so while, on its face, it seems that there is a touch of irony, it really isn't that way at all. Perhaps a quick look at the definition of irony in the OED is warranted here.
