I always have big plans and bigger expectations for the holidays. Last year with my grandfather's passing, I learned to take things a little slower and not worry about getting everything done because clearly almost nothing got done last year and we were lucky to even find a tree.
little j is so excited about Christmas, and it is hard not to be caught up in that. In fact, I love being caught up it. I am struggling thinking about making holiday cookies for friends and neighbors, decorating the house, making a gingerbread house, finishing Christmas shopping and homemade gifts.
I think I know my limits, but it's been about 6 years since I've been able to go all out for the holidays. I don't want to go to crazy, but I definitely want to have fun.

Wait until little j sees the special pre-Christmas surprise Aunt S has in store.....
It must be becoming more real that you're done with school now that you have actual time to spend on the holidays?! How fun!
Being done with school and the dissertation has opened up a whole new world! I even spent most of Friday knitting...how decadent!
Enjoy decking every last hall now that you're done with school!
