Seriously, I have to put the Sunday Political Dish on hold for this: little j has decided that she needs to wear a sleep mask to bed.
The back story: A few months ago my mother-in-law sent little j a "glamour case" complete with rings filled with lipgloss, nail polish, eyeshadow, and, god help me, a sleep mask. This isn't any sleep mask because it wouldn't be a hot pink glamour case without a sequined, bedazzled, hot pink sleep mask with "Glamour! and Glitz!" stamped in big, bold, black gothy letters.
Yesterday little j had a friend over and apparently they felt the need to get out the glamour case and test some makeup. Fortunately they didn't go too crazy. But little j did rediscover the sleep mask and decided that she needed to wear it last night.
Amazingly she fell asleep within five minutes of turning the lights out. And the same thing happened again tonight. What is up with that?
Now I suppose that sleep masks aren't just for spoiled rich women who have a hard time sleeping because they are incredibly sensitive and bothered by the slightest bit of light creeping into the room . . . but a five-year old? She is incredibly sensitive. And I guess I can't complain that she has been falling asleep quickly. But there is just something slightly disturbing seeing her with her glam sleep mask on as she drifts off to sleep.

HA! We won't let H see that, or he'll probably want one too...as long as it comes with an internal night light...
