Yesterday Big J and I cleaned the house in the morning and then he left at noon to go up to Baltimore to pick up his brother and his brother's partner. As he left, I ran a few errands which included perusing the Christmas decorations at a few different stores around town. The benefit of waiting until the week before Christmas to decorate and buy presents? Every thing is on sale!
I came home and decorated the mantel with our snowmen and got out stockings for little j and I to hang up. So although we still don't have a tree, the stockings are hung, some decorations are up and we have family for the holidays. It is such a great feeling to hear laughter, see everyone playing together, having family dinners, good conversation, and planning last minute shopping trips. As the song says: It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.
