The Poe Shadow

So I finally finished The Poe Shadow a few days ago. I haven't formed a complete opinion about it yet. On one hand, I enjoyed the story and the characters. The writing was exceptional. But at the end I felt strangely let down. I certainly won't give away the ending, but I read the last two chapters with fervor knowing there was going to be a payoff and all would be revealed in the end. All was revealed, but it wasn't exactly in the way I had hoped.

What the book did do, however, was remind me of how amazing Poe's writing is and encourage me to re-read some of his work, just in time for Halloween.
