Happy blog-iversary!

A year of blogging...I can hardly believe it. It's been a good year with ups and downs, but mostly ups. This time last year I was sweating over my proposal and now it is my dissertation. That's definitely progress.

little j is a year older and, as she adamantly tells us, the smartest, cutest, and fastest girl ever.

Big J is as busy as ever -- going to meetings, being supportive of me, and taking little j swimming.

Life is definitely good. A couple days ago I read back through some of my first posts. It's sort of like picking up a journal (of which I have several) to look back through thoughts and events over the last year. It's also given me a chance to reflect on the direction of my blog in the next year. It's hard to categorize my blog -- I suppose that it's hard to categorize me. Hopefully I can keep you, dear reader, on your toes and coming back for more over the next year.
