blogs and libel

Here's the thing: there's this person who has made a name for him/herself in the national media regarding a particular issue in which I am deeply interested. If I wasn't so worried about being sued for libel, I would write what I really think about this person. Every time I hear or read about this person I get so angry! Apparently I can't write about someone and describe how completely incompetent she/he is unless I have hard facts to back up the assertion. Sadly, I know there are plenty of other people that feel the same way I do. So, I won't be writing anything about this person, instead I'll be talking to the people around me that have also dealt with him/her and bemoaning the fact that we can't make our irritation known.
