I am supposed to be preparing a lecture on medieval universities. Instead I am researching grant opportunities for poverty research.

Big J's comment on doctoral/faculty work is a mantra: "If it was easy, everyone would be doing it."

little j and I had a mom-daughter week while Big J was in Atlanta. It was maybe one of our best weeks.

little j's new kitten, Sammy, is adorable and malleable, but still a little skittish.
